Mitchell Roush serves as the Communications Director at Grand Island Public Schools in Nebraska. As a champion and product of public education, Mitchell believes in amplifying student and teacher voices. Through proactive positive communication and a sharp acumen for digital marketing, his team is dedicated to sharing the microphone to spotlight the powerful stories found in all corners of GIPS.GIPS Communications has earned 34 National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Awards in five years including the district's first Golden Achievement Awards in 2024 and 2025. The district podcast he hosts, ‘The GIPS Cast’, was recently listed as a Top 100 Public School Podcast in the country (#40 overall) by Million Podcasts. Roush was also recognized as the Nebraska School Communicator of the Year for 2026; an NSPRA Top 35 Under 35 Class member of 2022-23; and a previous Nebraska Library Advocacy Award-Winner in 2019. Mitch also enjoys the music of Johnny Cash and Pixar movies.
